Anza Borrego Desert Daytrips and Tours

Daytrips to the Anza-Borrego Desert are full 12 hour days, starting with breakfast on a mountain lake, then on to a gold mining village from the 1800's, to the famous Dudley's Bakery for fresh bread in the village of Santa Ysabel. From here we drop down the east side of the mountains to the desert. Options include a visit to the state park information center, a hike to an oasis, picnic and soak in desert hot springs, stops for desert scenery views as we drive across the desert, and then options of returning home, or visiting Jacumba, Tecate, Mexico or dinner at the Barrett Cafe, or the Viejas Indian Reservation. One of the best times of year to visit is early Spring when the desert flower bloom happens. This sometimes spectacular event depends on winter rain and can last for a month or less.
